Support La Tijera
Another way to help the world through La Tijera is by supporting the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)  UMCOR responds to the world by sending relief to Haiti, Pakistan, Chile, the fight to end Malaria, the fight to end AIDS,  and U.S. disaster relief to recent flooding, just to name a few.  Visit the UMCOR webpage today to discover how you can help change the world.

La Tijera UMC believes that we are called to do as much good as we can as often as we can ... and here are three of the wonderful organizations we are in partnership with:

Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services - Suicide Prevention and Awareness
(888) 807-7250 (for services)
(310) 390-6612 (general information)
(800) 273-8255 (24-hour suicide prevention crisis hotline)

Each year, La Tijera sponsors their Alive & Running 5K for Suicide Prevention, which takes place in September.  You are invited to join in the 5K, support a team or runner, or simply donate money to Didi Hirsch through their website.

LAX Food Pantry

The food pantry has been feeding those experiencing food scarcity since 1985.  Each November, we provide "dinner in a bag" for the holidays, in addition to donating to the food bank, both with supplies and monetary donations, throughout the year.  You are invited to check out the food pantry - which is run on an entirely 100% volunteer basis.

PATH (People Assisting the Homeless)
PATH Services provides the support that homeless individuals and families need in order to successfully transition from living on the street to thriving in homes of their own. High-quality supportive services are critical to ensuring that the people we serve are able to not only move into permanent homes, but stay in permanent homes long-term. The services we provide are available to anyone who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Twice a month, La Tijera is at the PATH West Los Angeles facility - once for breakfast service (3rd Sunday of each month) and once for birthday celebrations (day varies).  Join us in supporting PATH by either participating in the monthly Sunday morning breakfast service (volunteers mush be over 18 years of age, filled out required paperwork, and sign up through La Tijera's office) or through donations to PATH.

ALL are invited to help vision ways of helping the community and supporting each other.  If you are interested in learning about any of these wonderful organizations, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email.
